The cooperation of all of these deeply dedicated and passionate organizations truly makes this an international effort. Our sincere thanks to our friends at Mopdog Creative & Marketing Firm for their talent, time, friendship, and constant support. Many congratulations to the recipients of the 2016 Pioneer Awards: Irma Dianzani, MD, Ph.D. of Eastern Piedmont University in Novara, Italy and Harvey Lodish, Ph.D. of Whitehead Institute and MIT in Boston, MA.
We would like to extend a very special thank you to our Research Director, Dr. Steven Ellis. Steve manages to explain complex scientific information to parents who are eager to find a glimmer of hope in any new research. He has his finger on the pulse of the DBA research community and guides our efforts to fund research that moves us closer to our goal of a cure. Steve is instrumental to the DBAF’s success.
Our deep, sincere thanks to Dr. Adrianna Vlachos. Dr. Vlachos is loved and respected by our DBA families. Her true commitment to our patients and genuine care has improved the lives of countless patients and literally, saved the lives of many. She is both a year round doctor extraordinaire and an instrumental force in helping to organize this meeting.
It is an honor for the Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation to host a meeting that brings together such a dedicated group of doctors, researchers, scientists, families and patients all striving for the same goal.
