ANNOUNCEMENT: “DBA: Building Global Bridges”: An interdisciplinary symposium to facilitate networking between clinicians, scientists, and patients worldwide.
An international meeting on Diamond-Blackfan anemia (DBA), a rare inherited blood disease will take place at the Division of Pediatrics, University of Freiburg in Germany, on September 19-20, 2014. “DBA: Building Global Bridges” is an interdisciplinary symposium established under the umbrella of the ERARE-funded Euro-DBA consortium with the goals of facilitating networking, advancing clinical understanding, and improving therapies for this blood condition in children and adults. With the ever-increasing complexities of globalization coupled to the exponential rise of clinical information, this symposium signifies a powerful and important step towards a level of cooperation and collaboration that is unquestionably the key to the future success of rare disease research.
